Well we finally said goodbye to 2020, but the new year hasn’t been running smoothly. Here in Ireland we’re still in lockdown, officially until January 31st, but in all likelihood we’ll remain shut into February and possibly beyond. Of course the vaccine rollout is exciting news, but it’s a slow process so patience and caution are required for some time yet.

We were open in December, and want to say a huge “Thank You” to all the local Waterford people who stopped by to buy gifts, most for family and friends abroad, Christmas was an especially hard time for so many people, unable to reunite with loved ones, but hopefully we can all make up for it in Christmas 2021.

We’d also like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who shopped online with us, in what has been a tremendously difficult year every sale makes a difference. The “Shop Local” campaign seems to have hit home with so many Irish consumers, and it certainly made a difference to us.

Whilst both shops remain closed, you can still order with us here online. We will wait it out, and be ready to welcome you all back to Burke’s as soon as we’re allowed to open our doors. Stay safe everyone, the end is in sight. xRetail
