Ireland’s original, and best Christmas Festival WINTERVAL is in full swing here in Waterford. There’s so much to see and do and the atmosphere in the city is amazing. From light shows, to Christmas markets, the Waterford Eye to the best Santa’s Grotto this side of the North Pole, Waterford continues to lead the way when it comes to celebrating Christmas.

Needless to say, it’s not the busiest time of year in the shop, but there are still a few visitors to Waterford, and a significant amount of people home from places like America and Australia who can’t go back to their adopted homeland without a FECKIT registration plate.

The shop will be open everyday up until December 23rd, closed on the 24th – 27th, open 28th – 31st, closed New Year’s Day and then on January 2nd everything returns to normal.

January is actually a busy month, as we have the trade show in Dublin, it’s a great event that requires 2 days of scouting for new stock, checking out new suppliers and being plied with complimentary champagne and nibbles from the companies who are correct in their assumption that the more alcohol they give me, the larger the order I place with them will be. This was the method that was used to get me to place an order of rubber ducks in 2015…..148 of them are still in the stock room almost 4 years after the hangover has worn off.

In February the new stock starts to trickle in, ready for St. Patrick’s day, the season begins again and Winterval 2018 is just a memory.
